Even the Person Explaining the Results Was Surprised

Recently, I had an opportunity to measure a client’s condition before and after a KaradaNaoru session at my salon in Meguro.

We used a heart rate variability fractal analysis system called CHI Fractal Bioanalysis.

The person who works with the system brought it to the salon, and a trusted longtime client in his fifties agreed to participate as the subject.

There were three of us in the room: the client, the man who brought the equipment, and me.

CHI Fractal Bioanalysis was developed with the involvement of Jibin Chi and is operated from a base in Sweden.

In Japan, it is registered as a Class I general medical device.

The system measures heart rate variability from both wrists for approximately five minutes. Using its proprietary fractal analysis, it generates numerical indicators for autonomic nervous system balance, stress, vital force, and other factors.

It also displays estimates relating to chakras, meridians, spinal function, and biological age.

However, these factors are not measured directly.

They are estimates generated by analyzing the underlying heart rate variability data through the system’s proprietary methods.

The measurements were taken on July 24, 2026.

The pre-session measurement was taken at 4:17 p.m.

The post-session measurement was taken at 5:08 p.m.

There was an interval of approximately 51 minutes between the two measurements.

The session itself lasted about 20 to 30 minutes.

Although the client was lying down during that time, he was not asleep.

He remained conscious and continued talking with us.

The results showed substantial changes across several indicators.

The overall assessment increased from 72% to 89%.

The autonomic regulation index increased from 59% to 93%.

The mental stress index decreased from 189 to 80.

Vital force increased from 105 to 186.

The central nervous system balance index decreased from 6.5 to 2.3.

This does not mean that every number is better when it rises.

The stress and central nervous system balance indices decreased, bringing them within the system’s reference ranges.

Several indicators relating to the spine and other areas of the body had been displayed in green or yellow before the session. Afterward, they were all displayed in blue.

All seven chakra-related indicators increased.

Of the twelve meridian-related indicators, eight increased and four decreased.

Not every number moved in the same direction.

That point needs to be stated accurately.

The system’s estimated brain-wave frequency bands also changed. Alpha decreased from 69% to 55%, while delta increased from 8% to 34%.

These were not direct measurements taken with an EEG.

They were estimates calculated from heart rate variability data.

The result that interested me most was Total Power.

Before the session, it was 2,079.

After the session, it was 4,392.

It had increased by approximately 2.1 times and entered the system’s reference range.

An anonymized comparison of the measurements taken before and after the session is available here.

Total Power is described as the combined power of several frequency bands within heart rate variability. It is used as an indicator of overall autonomic nervous system activity.

The moment the two figures appeared side by side on the screen, the client exclaimed,

“Wow, Matsuoka-san, that’s amazing.”

The man who had brought the equipment looked at the screen and said,

“This is remarkable.”

Even the person responsible for explaining the results was surprised.

Seeing his reaction, I looked at the screen again.

A figure of approximately 2,000 before the session had risen to more than 4,000 afterward.

I had not expected such a large difference to appear after a single session.

Some people experience a significant change during a KaradaNaoru session.

Others tell me,

“I didn’t feel anything in particular.”

Each person experiences the session differently.

That is why I am very interested in the possibility of observing changes in the body through numerical data.

However, being surprised by a result and considering it proven are two different things.

This single result does not prove the effectiveness of KaradaNaoru.

It is only one measurement involving one person.

Other factors may have influenced the results, including lying down and resting, conversation, breathing, posture, the passage of time, and normal measurement variability.

Furthermore, the fact that the system is registered as a medical device does not mean that every indicator it displays, including chakras, meridians, and biological age, has been independently established scientifically.

What we can confirm is this:

“The figures displayed by this system changed substantially between the measurements taken before and after the KaradaNaoru session.”

That result also showed us what we should do next.

We could ask the same person to lie down for the same amount of time without receiving a session.

We could measure the person before and afterward.

We could perform consecutive measurements to determine how much the system’s figures normally fluctuate.

We could also increase the number of participants and record whether the figures correspond with their subjective experiences and observable physical changes.

Only by continuing these comparisons will we begin to understand what changes may be associated with the session itself.

I am deeply grateful to the client who agreed to participate.

I have no intention of drawing sweeping conclusions from a single result.

Still, the change displayed on the screen was large enough to surprise all three of us.

I do not think that fact should simply be dismissed.
