My Pants Are Falling Down — The Origin Story of KaradaNaoru (Part 10)

This happened about five or six years ago.
One day, an elderly woman came to my clinic accompanied by her daughter.
I honestly don't remember exactly what symptoms had brought her there. As usual, I checked her condition, performed the treatment, and finished the session.
Then, just as I said,
“Please take your time and slowly sit up,”
something unexpected happened.
⸻
“Sensei, my pants are falling down!”
she exclaimed in a panic.
At first, I thought she was joking.
Then I wondered if she had forgotten to wear a belt.
“Are you wearing a belt?” I asked.
“No,” she replied. “I wasn't wearing one to begin with.”
I looked more carefully.
She was right.
The waistband of her pants had become dramatically looser.
Not by a little.
There appeared to be at least four to six inches (10–15 cm) of extra room around her waist.
At that point, it was obvious she couldn't comfortably go home like that.
So I took off my own belt and lent it to her.
⸻
The following week, she returned and kindly gave the belt back.
What surprised me was that her waist was still the same size.
Whatever had happened had not disappeared after a few hours.
Even now, it remains one of the more unusual experiences I have witnessed.
I don't believe she suddenly lost body fat.
My best guess is that some kind of swelling or fluid retention around her abdomen had changed.
But that is only speculation.
I simply don't know.
⸻
Earlier today, a woman visiting the clinic for the first time told me,
“My stomach feels noticeably slimmer.”
The moment she said it, I was reminded of this story.
⸻
When people hear stories like this, they sometimes assume I should advertise:
“KaradaNaoru helps with weight loss!”
I'm sure that would attract attention.
But I don't.
The reason is simple.
The changes people experience are different for everyone.
One person notices their shoulders feel lighter.
Another finds it easier to breathe.
Someone else stands straighter.
Another finally sleeps well for the first time in years.
Everyone is different.
Whether that comes down to timing, compatibility, or the individual's own potential, I honestly don't know.
⸻
What I do know is this:
When you spend years treating people almost every day, you occasionally encounter things that are difficult to explain.
When that happens, I don't try to force an explanation.
I simply accept what happened and move on to the next person who needs help.
Looking back, I realize that the history of KaradaNaoru has been built upon countless experiences like these—small mysteries that still remain mysteries today.
